approximately 30 miles east of
scenic San Francisco. This competitive
soccer environment is home of
many of the best high school
soccer teams and players in California. Historically,
many of these players have continued
their soccer careers at some
of the best universities in the
area including Stanford, Santa
Clara, UC Berkeley, St. Mary's,
Sacramento State and UC Davis.
This year's Tri-Valley Classic
promises to offer some of the
best women's soccer in the Nation!!!

DECEMBER 23, 2007: Torrey Pines wins Tri-Valley Classic

Monte Vista and Torrey Pines were both preseason FAB 50 Top 10
teams. When they met for the Tri-Valley Classic final, the match lived up to
the hype.
Monte Vista outshot Torrey Pines, but following a scoreless regulation and
overtime, the San Diego power Torrey Pines emrged with a PK win to claim the Tri-Valley Classic crown.
Both teams had ample chances. Monte Vista outshot Torrey Pines 15-5. However,
Torrey Pines had a penalty kick negated by encroachment, and Monte Vista had a
pair of shots hit the post and another cleared off the line by a Torrey Pines
defender.
Monte Vista had a 3-2 lead in PKs before missing its last two attempts and
Torrey Pines finished its last two chances for the victory.
